Battloun is one of the villages in the Chouf district within the Mount Lebanon Governorate. It is located 45 km from Beirut, at an altitude ranging from 950 to 1,100 meters above sea level. The village has a population of approximately 4,200 residents.
The name “Battloun” is derived from “Beth Tilon,” meaning “house of the small hill,” as this hill provides views of the surrounding valleys and lush green forests that captivate with their beauty. The village lies at the foot of Mount Barouk and is part of the peripheral villages of the “Chouf Cedar Nature Reserve.” Its strategic geographical location, cultural heritage, stunning natural landscape, rich history, and eco-tourism assets make it an attractive destination for culture and environment enthusiasts.
